Smyth, Jessamyn

Smyth’s short story 'A More Perfect Union' from American Letters and Commentary 17 was nominated for the Pushcart Prize and selected as one of the 100 distinguished stories of 2005 by Best American Short Stories. Somoza is a retired college teacher (New Mexico State University) and editor (Puerto Del Sol) who lives in Las Cruces with his wife Jill, a painter. He has published several books of poetry over the years, the most recent being Shock of White Hair (Sin Fronteras Press, 2007).
