Declaration of Independence

We, the People of the United Kingdom, hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, and that to secure those Rights, governments are instituted among Men, deriving power from consent of the Governed.
The recent history of the present King of the United States is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, contravening such consensual government. It has therefore become necessary for this People to dissolve the political bands connecting them to the United States. We must hold them as we hold the rest of Mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.
To support this, let facts be submitted to a candid world:
- King George has combined with Prince Anthony to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to and unacknowledged by our laws;
- King George has affected to render the allied forces independent of and superior to the Civil power;
- King George has contrived with Prince Anthony to abolish the System of Laws in a foreign Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and rendering it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule elsewhere.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms. Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A King whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant is unfit to be the ruler of a free People. King George has colluded with Prince Anthony to extend his Tyranny over our own Lands. The Movement of Citizens is restricted, and the Right of Expression imperilled.
We, therefore, the People of the United Kingdom, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by the Authority of the good People of these lands, solemnly publish and declare, that the United Kingdom is and of Right ought to be a Free and Independent State, absolved from all Allegiance to the King of the United States, and that all political connection between them is hereby dissolved.
