in heaven it's always raining, why do you cry run lola run & when we were in the wild poems

[ poetry - july 05 ]

in heaven it's always raining

in heaven it's always raining
a freeway's clogged with cars
every radio plays a different
song & a national emergency's
been declared in my heart run
away from your bad dreams we
have this one chance the fog
is lifted rivers flood ferry
boats are leaving the boards
are slippery mud-caked boots
& sirens snigger let's throw
snow at the studded dwarves
wait for the barges barrels
fire stands that island city
is on fire snow melts eaves
charcoal photographers snap
at scraps the wolves trigger
silent alarms traces mystery
fate of flak snowflakes wan
at faces peering out of late
nineteenth century port town
wharves that wait for boats
that will not come no more
we have won the word travels
slowly radios jammed static
answers to steam prayers on
the swollen river running at
the light stroke of midnight
carry swinging lanterns hit
the frozen grounds of heaven
with footprints of the earth

why do you cry run lola run

why do you cry run lola run
does pain cause it (lola runs
are your eyes leaking & lola
why do you run lola runner
in a hallway run crying lola
after me crying run in pain
caused by lola running lola
ran away from pain & cried
why does pain cause it lola
runs away run lola run run
as fast as you can cry lola's
running away from me her
tears running down cheeks
(lola why are you running
is it me lola run who causes
it who caused it lola run on
run lola why do you cry as
you run & why am i crying
lola keeps on running as a
movie camera tracked her
tears running on & on lola
why lola why do you cry &
does pain cause it lola runs
why she runs i cry run lola
run lola run causes me pain
lola never again lola never
run lola run to me lola run
as fast as you can lola runs
back to me backwards lola
why do you run lola  away
lola run away are you that
runaway on the radio lola
the model aeroplane on the
runway lola taking off lola
run lola run why do we cry
lola does pain cause it run
into my arms run lola run!

when we were in the wild poems

when we were in the wild poems
didn't need writing or the moon
we lived by firelight spoke of
seasons winds as if we did not
remember them each day arrived
like new memories in the smoke
skirting our circumferences all
the sky told us was that cloud
bursts came from sharp loves &
leaves jagged or round become
flowers in their time without
a reason or answers where did
you first come from how did i
get here who suckled the first
one in the wild & why were we
huddling in caves or did they
spring from mud volcano wombs
or outer spaces silver glades
who asked that first question
doubted sunrise kisses stumps
patterns in the snow & towers
of tree-borne pollen risen to
great heights above my hollow
head vacant strips where eyes
will one day grow like pearls
or crystals we would not know
of in our lifetimes every sun
& star describes us in a wild
arc of breathing earth darker
than lungs without light airs
colliding love under whispers
