To my one desire

You think adultery is just for play
And comedy outwits the tragic meme:
The unicorn is hunted by its prey.
You see the light turn blue and gold and
grey,
And wink that midnight has a wiser gleam.
You think adultery is just for play.
If our humanity is DNA
Is happiness a whore? Why lie and dream
The unicorn is hunted by its prey?
I smell a fairy garden, white in May,
And wake to feel a snort of scarlet steam…
You think adultery is just for play,
But Armageddon is a tryst away,
When virgin bride in flight brings forth a scream:
'The unicorn is hunted by its prey!'
She was the mother-bitch you couldn’t spay.
I was the catamite who spat the cream.
You think adultery is just for play?
The unicorn is hunted by its prey.
