Unsaid
by Aseem Kaul
[ poetry - february 10 ]
The road to hello
is paved with good beginnings.
I fill tape after tape
with the things I dare not say.
Now you're gone
the poems are everywhere
eloquent as puddles
unspooling with rain.
Go on:
pick a number,
take a card,
tear a page
out of any book -
anywhere you look
the truth
is an unturned leaf -
every secret has two sides
like a story,
or a door;
don't knock it
until you've heard
what's behind the silence
what lies
in store.
