she felt so embarrassed about it, humiliated even.
she'd felt strong attraction to him for quite a while. their husbands working together on enough shared contracts that over the years they could be considered good friends. been on holiday together.
they got drunk at weekends, talked about sex, been some silly flirting.
this illicit potential increasing each time she and her husband visited them. she was sure she could read a growing shimmer in his eyes too, which she took as reciprocal.
tonight they were at a crowded party, the pair of them ending up nestled in a sofa, surrounded by cavorting guests as if to isolate them. drinking. talking about sex. flirting. she was sure she felt an extra intensity from him. alcohol muddling together the fear of adultery with it's thrill, she implied more, raising the dare.
unspoken interludes. staring into eyes. hesitant starts. and now he was leaning into her, the warmth from his face against hers as he whispered "i want to sleep with your husband".
